Jeremy sat lazily on his couch, not knowing what else to do in such an awkward situation. He didn't even know where Monique was, probably with one of the four parents, and he, quite frankly, did not care. Today had been such an energy consuming day for him, and he guessed for Monique, too. All they did was discuss the wedding. All. Day. Long. It was now seven o' clock at night and Jeremy was just about ready to sleep. The huge dinner they had could have served ten people, and instead, half that number ate it easily.
He was still amazed by all positives and negatives being a werewolf had. Some things were even still somewhat new to him that he had just discovered in the past year or so. Jeremy hoped in all his years of being a werewolf, that they would always be this exciting. Then, remembering he was soon to be married, Jeremy wasn't sure if anything would be all that exciting anymore. It wasn't just the fact that he was taking Monique's contagious attitude into consideration, but the fact that marrying someone meant life devotion to that person and no one else.
Just then, he saw his mother's face in front of him, saying she'd be back later. Apparently, they were going to some game night at some other couple's house and would be staying over late. That meant it would just be him and Monique. Alone. Great, he thought. After seeing the parents' to the door, Jeremy returned to his place on the couch to rest, almost completely forgetting about his fiance.

outfit [ignore the name xDD polyvore still hates me]
Monique really couldn't believe she cave in and allowed her mother to pick out her entire outfit. Of course, at the very last minute she had slipped the sneakers on instead of the heels her mother wanted her to wear. God, they were just going over to Jeremy's for dinner..it wasn't like it was anything fancy. Now, here she was, they finished eating and she made herself stay in the kitchen, listening to her parents and his own speak to one another about only god knows what. She really wasn't paying attention, until she caught word of them leaving and finally blinked a few times to actually seeing her parents leaving with his damnit she thought, sighing slightly as she stood up.
The woman made her way quietly and slowly to the living room, sitting down in a chair adjacent to Jeremy, crossing her legs at her ankles. She wanted nothing more than to change out of this dress and be in something more comfortable. Mona glanced sideways out the corner of her eye at Jeremy before looking ahead of her again. How awkward was this going to be, maybe if she tried to reason with him again, to talk to their parents to end all of this.
Taking in a small breath, she turned to look at Jeremy again "If you could just be on my side and help me to reason with our parents', we can end all of this awkwardness and everything else." she spoke calmly.

Jeremy's eyelids began falling every now and then, proving his sleepiness was legitamate. Well, Monique wouldn't care whether he was awake or not. Maybe even she could get some shut-eye before the parents got home. Jeremy sighed through his nostrils and closed his eyes. He heard Monique enter the room and sit on the plush chair adjacent to him. Maybe she'll just be quiet and not make this any more uncomfortable than it already is, Jeremy thought, drifting into sleep quicker and quicker...
Unfortunately, Monique finally did speak up. Though he was startled by it, his eyelids flashed opened and he tilted his head forward as his eyebrows furrowed, slightly. Great, she was being difficult as always. Hadn't they had this conversation at least several previous times? Jeremy sat up on the couch as she finished and he sighed heavily. Maybe she would keep her mouth shut if he answered her. Again.
"Please, Monique, why do we have to do this right now? Haven't we gone over this? I'm sorry, but I do want to marry you, and if your parents aren't willing to tug you out of it, then I'm sorry. I really am." But Jeremy didn't really sound that sorry at all. He was just using his explanation as a pacifier for Mona, for the moment, at least.

Monique sort of feels her calmness crumble a bit and the frustration inside of her well up to the surface. Why did he want to marry her, she really didn't understand. Why did he want to make her miserable for the rest of her life and make her suffer. Mona found herself glaring at him, the frustration really coming alive inside of her "Why are you doing this to me? Can't you see that you are just going to make me miserable for the rest of my life?" she asked him, finding herself standing her feet with her hands resting on her hips.
This stance made her think of her mother when she was frustrated. She'd seen it to many times and as much as she didn't want to gain some traits from her mother, she couldn't help it. Monique stood there, glaring down at him, wanting to just rip his head off with her bare hands "Why, Jeremy? Why not be on my side and help me convince our parents they are making a BIG mistake."

Jeremy heard Monique began speaking again but, this time, she had a different tone in voice he hadn't heard her use in a while. He stopped from leaning back again and looked up at Monique as she ranted to him. Jeremy sighed and he ran a hand through his hair. So she wasn't going to let it rest as easily. Feeling the power imbalance coming against him, Jeremy stood so he could tower over Monique like he usually did, though there was still quite a bit of distance between them.
But as she continued speaking, a sort of slow anger and frustration began building up in Jeremy. He tried pushing it away, but couldn't. So, when Monique finally finished, though not completely since Jeremy cut her off, he had begun to start looking as she did. "Because you're the only one that thinks this marriage is going to be a mistake. No one else can side with you because no one believes that. Including me."

Monique stood her ground as Jeremy stood up, and towered over her even though there was distances between them. To hear his words, they sort of stung her and caused her frustration to slowly turn into anger and rising more to the surface "This is insane!" she blurted out loudly. She took a step towards him, glaring almost deathly at him "Out of all of the damn females in any pack, I was picked! The least likely one to bow down and accept the offer. The least likely one to want to go through with this!" she couldn't stop herself from letting her voice rise with her anger. But she had to get it all out and it did feel a bit better to throw it all towards him.
"It's sad that you will still keep doing this, even knowing it's going to make me miserable, make me hate you so much more. And to know that I will most likely leaving you standing there at the alter." Mona knew she told him some of that before, but it didn't help to jog his memory and make him re-think it all over again. Maybe it'd shake him and make he see her way "And who is to say that even being married to you, I'm going to be faithful to you. Do you really think I'll want to do anything with you just because we'll be married?" the mere thought of even kissing Jeremy made her blood boil, she didn't even want to think about doing that, especially in front of both their families. It made her stomach churn.

Jeremy's temper and breathing slowly rose as it seems Monique's did. She seemed to be getting really upset, this time, and he didn't know why. Maybe she was getting more desperate the nearer the wedding came. Maybe she was panicking with the thoughts of marrying him and was just venting, hoping to change his mind some way or another. He did feel slightly sorry that out of the females in their pack, the only one that didn't have any positive feelings towards Jeremy whatsoever, was picked. And now, Monique was getting angrier and angrier. Jeremy kept himself calm by breathing through his nose.
Monique began making threats at Jeremy and his teeth clamped together. What right did she think she had? What authority did she have to make these remarks at Jeremy? But when she started making threats of being unfaithful to him, Jeremy's eyes bore into her's and he yelled with a rumbling sound. "Enough!" He breathed for a moment, letting the silence surround them, then spoke again to make sure she didn't try to before him. He pointed a finger straight in her face as he spoke to her in a low, menacing tone. "Don't you dare threaten me with infidelity."

To hear the booming sound of Jeremy's voice made her mentally cringe and she had to resist the urge to have to take a step back from him. But Monique stood her ground, staring up at him. With the silence surrounding them, she could understand why Jeremy is beta wolf of his clan, in the next line to be alpha; he had such that type of powering voice to pull it off; it caused her face to soften, and the glare to start to disappear.
Of course, once the pointed got pointed into her face, she felt the glare come back as she raised her hand and slapped his away from her face to get him to stop pointing his damn finger at her "I'll threaten you with whatever the hell I want." she told him, taking another step closer to him, keeping herself strong and calm, even though she was furious "Until this wedding is called off and this arranged marriage of over with, I'll threaten you with every thing I can think of." her words came out with a bit of venom dripping on them.

Jeremy's eyes pierced Monique as she spoke. Thank God it wasn't anywhere near a full moon tonight, otherwise they would both probably be wrecking his house now, going at each other's throats ruthlessly. Jeremy knew he couldn't do that to Monique, but he definitely knew she would do that right on the spot. She had smacked his hand away and spoke as did a teenager when told by their parents what to do. Jeremy might have even laughed if he wasn't so angry.
But he did laugh. Just one mocking laugh at her after she threatened to threaten him after their wedding was "off". What made her think she could get rid of him, let alone their parents? Didn't she know they would do everything to get this wedding to happen? God only knew if they would even make her spit out the "I Do".
"Ha! I'd like to see you try and stop the wedding in the first place!"

Oh, how she hated those words that came from his mouth. And sadly enough, Mona knew he was right; she had to stop the wedding first to be able to get all of this over with. What did she have to do to make him see that she doesn't want to marry him. She felt the small urge to just burst out crying because of how much she was angry and how much she didn't want to marry Jeremy "What do I have to do to get you to see that I don't want to marry you!" she yelled at him, staring up at with blue eyes that were mixed with a plead and frustration.
She never really thought of Jeremy being selfish, but right now she could really see it. He was being selfish, only thinking about what he wants, to marry her and not even allowing himself to think about how she feels or what she wants. All of this made Mona growl lowly in her throat, this boy should be thankful it wasn't a full-moon tonight, or else she would of probably done burst into her other form and be trying to rip his throat out "You are a selfish bastard, Jeremy!" she growled out at him.

Jeremy's anger was still on the rise as he glared down at Monique, not but seven inches away from him. Her yelling didn't help with the close proximity, and it slightly pierced Jeremy's sensitive ears. He held away a wince and kept his narrowed eyes on her. But something began to break inside Jeremy, and he didn't exactly like it. It felt as if Monique was really beginning to get to him: all her pleading and whining and begging was finally beginning to take a toll on Jeremy. No, you can't let her get to you! he thought angrily to himself. He swallowed, trying to get ahold of himself again.
Then she yelled that he was selfish and Jeremy's temper immediately flared. "Selfish?! You want to talk about being selfish?! How about not thinking of anyone else's opinion on this wedding but your own?! You're such a damn hypocrite, Monique!" Jeremy hoped in the back of his mind that his yelling was not so loud as to attract neighbors. Everyone living around them was a friend of their parents.

Monique's eyes went wide, as she stared up at him and she did the one thing she didn't think she'd really do: the woman gave him a hard shove in the chest, her eyes losing all plead in them and being covered in frustration "Me, selfish!?" she yelled right back at him "How dare you! I have taken in opinions of every one else and you are all against me! They all want me to marry you, who will one day become alpha, making me alpha female of the damn pack." she kept the hatred look to her face "Well guess what? I don't give a damn who you are or what it will be for me to marry you. I didn't want to be a damn werewolf in the first!"
If there was going to be one positive thing to come out of all of this, Mona was going to feel a bit better about getting all of this off her chest. To be able to vent like this, she was starting to feel as if a weight was being lifted slowly off her shoulders. But, it only was a little bit, because she her mind reeled about what it would really mean to be marry to him Jeremy. Once he became alpha male of the pack, it'd shove her right up there being alpha female. Something Monique didn't want; she thought of being who is as a curse and nothing more. What if they did have to mate and bare a child, she couldn't do that, she would rather die than let a child go through all of that.

Jeremy felt the hard shove against his chest and took only one short step back before replacing it in its previous spot, even a little closer. He glared down with fire and rage in his eyes at Monique, remembering that he once couldn't possibly ever imagine hitting a woman in his life. But now, Jeremy was doing a lot more than just imagining it. He was considering it. His hands had balled into fists and his teeth were clenched shut. He had to do everything he could not to raise his hand to Mona.
But Jeremy was getting so tired of all Monique's whining and yelling. It was so irritating to have yelling at him about something he couldn't control. What did it matter if she was the alpha female after he became alpha? She would just still be a werewolf and that was it. The fact that she was a werewolf wasn't even his fault and he was becoming more exhausted and angry with every word she spoke. Finally he snapped.
"SHUT UP, MONIQUE! JUST SHUT UP!!"

Monique tried not to be intimidated by how close he was standing to her now or the look of fire and rage glowing in his eyes. She knew no sane person would continue to go about with all of this with Jeremy, but Mona had her reasons to continue on with it. Though, she knew she ought to just give in and stop trying to fight out of this marriage. She knew she was just going to make herself even more miserable than it already is, but Mona couldn't help it. She didn't think it was fair for her to have to marry someone she didn't even love. It was wrong.
Mona stumbled back a little bit at his words. It made her wince slightly and she felt very intimidated by this man now. She knew she probably just went to far now, she'd never known Jeremy to get this way and honestly, it scared her a bit. Keeping some space between them, she tired to hide her fear from her eyes as she stared up at him "Fine. I give up. You want a damn wife, you've got it." she said in a stern quiet voice. Even saying the words made her heart ache "I'll never forgive you for any of this." she had to turn her back on him, as she balled her hands at her side, biting down on her bottom lip. Mona felt as if her world just crumbled, her life was over now. Why was there a point in living if she couldn't be happy or marry the guy she actually loves. She felt her eyes burn and mentally cursed herself, as she hoped no tears would fall.

Jeremy had to back off a bit to realize exactly what he had just done. He had never gotten this mad in front of Monique, no matter how bad any of their arguments had ever become. But he was tired of it all, tired of Monique, and tired of this whole arranged marriage. It had worn him out so much already that he felt the whole fight had probably just been for nothing. He had won, but it definitely didn't feel like it. He knew, deep down, he really did love Monique, and he never wanted it to turn out this way. He just wanted to shake her and question her why she wouldn't love, but he guessed you could never really make anyone love another person.
Swallowing as Mona turned around, finally seeming to give up, Jeremy felt his stomach slightly. He felt absolutely horrible. After everything he'd done, he realized he was just hurting Monique just to get what he had wanted, because he had become so obssessed with the idea of marrying her. He took a deep breath in and out of his mouth as he released his clenched jaw.
"Forget it. The wedding's off." Jeremy's voice broke slightly as he turned away to wipe his face with his hands.
