Josephine's scene of style is all her own. Not many students would walk around with mismatched clothes like a bright yellow headband with a rather fancy lace shirt with gym shorts, but on some days Joesphine ventures out into the world with that attire. She could care less of what other people think, all she cares about it if it feels good and maybe if it attracts a few odd stares. Growing up with two brothers Joey learned that the cuter it is the easier it becomes damaged so for a log period of time she was categorized as a 'tomboy' with camouflage pants and black over-sized t-shirts. Now that she is older Josephine looks back and wonders what in the world she was thinking. Any day she will throw on a pair of worn in jeans and a huge sweatshirt but likewise she loves dressing up and acting cute. She's obsessed with jewelry if it was up to her she would buy only huge earrings, outlandish necklaces, and bracelets that clank together when she moves.
Lined up against a line of girls Josephine will probably not be labeled the most beautiful. Still, there isn't anything that will make you turn away in disgust. Joey has a smooth heart shape face that is complimented with almond shaped hazel eyes and nice flush lips. Her features match her mothers, and Joey is reminded of this almost everyday by relatives, or close family members; but if you where to ask the girl she would tell you other wise. Where her mother has a nice warm to her features Joey's face has more points, with sharp lines that define her chin and her cheekbones she views her self like some kind of elf. She's on the short side, at least in her mind, so that helps with the elf-ness. Her body is more on the curvaceous side then skinny and her skin may be a clear white there are blotches along her legs from countless scars and bruises that never really healed the right way.

There is a lot to Joey, one minute she can be very sweet and loving but the next she can be screaming her head off. No she doesn't have multiple persons syndrome, or whatever its called, she just can't control her emotions as much as she'd like and ends up snapping at people. Think of a honeybee, the sting could hurt or be rather annoying, yet there is still honey which is really sweet. Even if you get on her good side you are still subject to some sarcasm and small jokes. In fact Josephine teases the people she knows the best more then the people she hates, because in the end they are still friends. If you are on the other side of Joe's hatred you often get rude blunt comments if not a slap to the face. And if an adult where step into the picture everything changes. Josephine has much respect for grown-ups she figures that they probably already went through a lot in their life, who is she to give them crap?
In new situations Josephine is quiet and stays to herself. If someone offers her a helpful hand it makes her question whats the person up to rather then thinking it is genuine help. After moving to Nevermore, Oregon Joey hardened up to anyone in fear of getting in trouble again. It will take a while but if you get Joe to soften up you might just find a whole different person. She doesn't think much before she speaks and can sound pretty blond at times. Not to mention all the embarrassing moments she could tangle herself into. But she loves to talk, and talk about anything really. With Joey around there will never be a silent moment. And if for a moment there is nothing to say Josephine will be the one to ask that question with an obvious answer or make a comment on something completely irrelevant.
Josephine isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Her time schedule is worked around 'not studying' and 'procrastinating' She'll purposefully go hang out with a friend or leave her book in some outlandish place just to have an accuse on why she didn't do her homework. The only thing Joe is freakishly good at is test taking. During class she zones in and out of the discussions; constantly doodling on her paper or staring out a window. But come test day Joey feels like all answers and obvious and its like they are just handing you extra credit. Now once in a while there will be a test she booms so you probably don't want to cheat of her test or anything, but she gets enough to pass and stay out of trouble. .[/size][/ul]

, history
Josephine Marie Velpar came into the world red faced and screaming. Born to a very respectable American couple, Thomas and Lydia Velpar, Josephine was a very lucky child. She may have not been born with a silver spoon in her mouth but she had enough. Lydia had always wanted children but could never get pregnant, but with some help from doctors her dreams came true. Joey was always her mothers little miracle and Lydia knew that her little bundle of joy was different then all the other kids, and in a way her mother was right, but thats for later on in this story.. Around her forth birthday Josephine received the best birthday gift; her mother was pregnant. This little girl would no longer have to play dress up with her dolls but a real baby now. Thomas Velpar was a strong headed little boy that detested being played with. Instead of just letting her little brother be Sawyer was determined to dress him up and put make-up on him. This made them both very stubborn children; Thomas only learning to cry louder and louder and Josephine learning never to give in. A year later Blake was born and now with the ratios being 2 boys to 1 girls Joey started loosing her cute little innocent act and became more or a tomboy.
The boys where always on the move, playing football, playing catch, anything active was their favorite thing to do. After breaking one of the lamps in the house they where ushered outside with Josephine the one in charged to watch them. Over time she became more like a second mother to her siblings. "Don't point that stick anywhere close to his eye!" and "Just because its dead doesn't mean you have to eat it". Josephine also learned to have fun, mud soon became her best friend and she could easily beat up some of the neighbor kids if they where unfair or picked on her younger brothers. Joey was truly one of the boys, and she often hung out with more boys her same age rather then girls. Maybe this is where all her troubles really started, no one would ever know. For Joey she liked the older kids on their streets, the ones that put on their brave face when they got in trouble or the ones that would be oh so brave to try something knew. On occasion Josephine would ditch her little brothers to run around the corner away from parents view to hang out with her "cooler" friends.
At the same time there was a whole other Velpar family in Nevermore, Oregon. Leon Velpar married his highschool sweetheart, Felicity Johnson, a few years after his older brother had tied the knot. Yet unlike his brother Leon wasted no time starting a family and nine months after their 'i do's' the family welcomed a set of triplets into the world; carlee, mckanzie, and zoe. They where a month older then their cousin josphine mainly because they where premature. Despite some birth complications the triplets grew up normal and freakishly identical. But this story isn't about them, its about Josephine isn't it? You see there is a thing at Nevermore, Oregon called the Academy. Its goal is to kill things that aren't human. No stupid, they don't kill animals, they kill fairies, vampires, and werewolves. Since the begging of Nevermore it seems like the Velpars had been there too. They knew the craziness that happened underneath it all so back in the day, a few years after the Academy first opened Cecilia, a strong minded widow, sent her boys to learn how to save the little town of Nevermore. Years past and in the end Thomas grew away from his family and all of what the Academy stood for and then later moved to California. Leon and his mother, on the other hand, believe strongly in what the Academy is doing and as soon as the triplets where old enough they where sent there. For years Cecilia had been encouraging Thomas to send Joey up to Oregon but all attempts failed.
Josephine was never the best child, well she had her moments. There was one moment, the summer right before she started middle school, that was particularly not one of her best. You see all the boys that lived in ratios of her house where all starting highschool, which means they where all stupid. One of the oldest boys was able to get some cigars from his dad's cabinet and everyone was passing around a bottle of vodka. To be honest, everything tasted like crap to Josephine, though it would have been wise to have stopped and get out when she still could. Who ever was the idiot in charged of keeping track on time most of had to many swigs that night because before any of the group knew it their parents where out looking for them. It certainly didn't help that twelve year old Joey was the only girl there, and one of the boys next to her had successfully gotten her out of her t-shirt and was then working on her bra. Thomas didn't know what to do, well first off Josephine was grounded, for life, but was that enough? Like any good son Thomas called his mother to see if she had any idea of how to handle Joey, and well of course her answer was the Academy.
For the last four years or so Josephine has been a member of her Uncle's family and well she hates it. Not only are her cousins extremely clique-y and "in to the new trends" they take girlie to a whole new level. The only thing that is odd is how good they are at hunting. The first year Joey joined the Academy she could barely handle anything and the triplets just walked through everything as if it was doing addition problems. Things would have been better if the three hadn't rubbed it in Joey's face every time they could. Their teasing and remarks only made Josephine work harder. She worked as much as she could, perfecting every little detail. But even on top of that Joey tried to keep her bad girl attitude ( just to bother her grandmother and uncle mainly). Joey enjoys the pleasures of drugs and sex, parties and getting high, yet she never lets it get the best of her. She refuses to let herself go to waste and plus she has a point to prove. Most of all she misses her real family and her brothers, but her grandmother won't let her leave Oregon, the only time she can see her family is when they come up to visit her. Lately they haven't been visiting as much, they must just be busy. Everytime they come her father pulls her aside and tell her he's sorry, so much that Joey could probably recite you every word he says. At the end he never forgets to mention that she can't let the Academy to brain wash her. "Play their game, its the only way to win, just don't let them change you"

had it only been two days? for arden lynn clark it felt like maybe a year, or longer. nothing much had happened; in fact during the last two days she had locked herself in the dungeon that was her dust filled room. the emptiness of not having carson there was to much for the teenager too bare so she laid on her bed wrapped in all her blankets like she was sick. she was hoping to hold on to the warmth he had left more then a night ago, but there was nothing left. every second on her clock seemed drawn out and outside of her window everything looked like it was in pause with its gloominess. with the gray skies leaving an ominous shadow on the streets and trees arden felt like she was in the center of some cheesy horror movie they only showed during halloween times. but as much as she tried arden couldn't will herself to get up and act like a normal human being. it was as if her heart weighed so much with pain that it was keeping her down on her bed. she should have just said yes, or at least something, not just sit there like an idiot waiting for the stars to align just the right way so all her problems would poof into thin air.
for many people love is just something that ends up in heartbreak because the other person in the relationship hurt you, but with arden if was just the opposite. it felt as if she was the one the mallet in her hand and pieces of broken hearts shattered on the floor. but this is just stupid, its like one of those 'the first cut is the deepest' kind of things, you are young and have the whole world laid out in front of you, someone might say to arden. wrong. this isn't just some kind of puppy love [unless you like puns]. what carson and arden had was not normal, because werewolves and imprinting isn't normal. and don't think for a moment that arden wished she wasn't imprinted by carson. carson was everything to this girl but love was new to her, and being able to voice her feelings after picking out what she really wanted from a field of scattered thoughts was hard for arden. she was hoping that when the time would come it would be so flawless like the hollywood movies and she would know what to say to make that moment so amazing. yes arden happened to be one of those hopeless romantics even if at the moment you couldn't tell.
arden thought she knew everything, give and take a few things, she always felt like she was over looking situations making sure everything ran smoothly but with not even a word carson had messed up all she had planned. just the other night carson damistung had climbed his way into arden's room, because very early in their relationship they noticed that being together made things just a whole lot better, and if that meant sneaking around under parents noses they where willing to take that risk. but upon his visit arden had found a ring in his possession. marriage? now? hadn't carson read romeo and juliet? they rushed things and look what happened to them. all arden could do was cry, no matter how much she tried to hold back her tears. at least she had carson there to hold her together. "Y-you don't have to s-say yes now, I mean you c-can think it over." And thats all arden did until she feel asleep, think. and after all her thinking she came up with one answer. yes. but carson's words and silent escape fell on sleepy ears leaving arden to wake up by herself staring at the black velvet box he had left on her night stand.
"I love you, and I do want you to marry me."
the next day or so was like a living hell, arden spent most of it bedridden and replaying everything in her head. she could still feel his whispers on her skin and his strong arms around her small body. what was he thinking? was he regretting imprinting on her? did he wish he had someone better, someone that didn't have over protective parents that weighted her every move? if he did, arden could promise that whoever that person was would not love carson as much as she did. but how was he to know, she didn't exactly show it... still arden couldn't picture a world with out carson, in fact she could barley stand the day with out even seeing him; thats why she stared her clock counting down the seconds until he was off from patrol. then she waited five more minutes, just because the butterflies in her stomach where holding her back, until she called carson. sam had assigned him and extra shift and he wouldn't be able to come the night, but he was going to make it to the already planned dinner the next day. arden couldn't figure out if he was lying or telling the truth, but after 'i love you's they hung up and she was just going to have to spend the night alone and wait for tomorrow.
knowing fully well that her parents weren't going to do anything to make this dinner a slight success arden lynn mustered all she could to get off from her bed. she took a shower and got herself all pretty before heading down stairs to start cooking dinner. her parents where probably in their room coming up with more rude jokes and crude statements for carson, but she tried to push that thought aside. she tried concentrating on the bowl of pasta boiling in front of her, setting the table, making a salad, getting drinks, yadda yadda. but nothing seemed to ease the idea that the dinner was off on the wrong foot before it even started. the clock was ticking away as the spaghetti hit the table, carson should be here soon, and her parents where making their way down stairs. her father found his spot on the couch and turned on the tv while her mother made her way to the kitchen. "Sweetie, why did you go out of your way to make all this? He's probably not coming..." was her response to the dinner table. "he said he was coming..." arden said in her small voice, fearing that what her mom had said was true. "please, can't we just give this a try? can't you just not ruin this?" arden continued a little more confident, she would have continued but she was interrupted by the door bell.
carson. carson. carson. carson. was all her mind could process correctly as she made her escape from the kitchen to open the front door. he was dressed for the occasion, all nice and clean and he wore that smile that just made every part of arden melt; for a moment her problems floated away. arden couldn't be sure if carson had stepped closer to her or she to him, but all of the sudden he was right there. her arms wrapped around him checking to see if was really him and her lips greedily went to his as if he was the air that she needed. "You made it" she smiled pulling away, feeling stupid just stating the obvious. "look car, we need to ta-" "arden its rude to leave your guests outside, hurry up before the dinner gets cold'' mrs. clark pretty much yelled, cutting arden's voice off. with a sigh the girl looked up to the one she loved with eyes telling him she was sorry, hopefully he would get the message; before weaving their fingers together and guiding him into the dining room. emily clark was already sitting down at the table serving herself some salad while her husband stood tall next to the table. hellos and welcomes where exchanged with all the manners in the worlds but still filled with awkwardness and then everyone shuffled into their seat at the table.
all you could hear was the soft chewing of food and moving of silver wear. arden's eyes couldn't rest on one spot, either looking at her parents wondering when their firsts words of evil would emerge or glancing over to carson wondering what was on his mind. finally the emptiness in the air was broken when robert clark decided to talk. "Really Carson? Why do you keep on coming back as if you are welcomed here?"
