, general description
Walking down the streets of Nevermore, one sees a good amount of humans, even on a cold winter's day. However, one particular girl seems to peek out the most from the crowd. The girl, Evelyn, has a very define facial structure, her nose wrinkling whenever she smiles, teeth perfectly straight and white. Her skin has a nice hue of pink, not making her too pale. Her eyes are a shade between blue and green, and her lips are thin and small. She even dyes her hair sometimes. Imagine that.
Her fashion is a statement in itself. She doesn't wear an abundance of makeup, but it's enough for a day out, at least for her. Her hair is cut short in a bob-style, and she is usually donning a hat with her platinum locks. Evelyn mostly wears skirts and jackets, but she'll wear jeans or t-shirts when she pleases. Her hands always have some sort of rings on them, though the amount is never truly defined.
She defines herself, after all.[/ul]

, personality
Ever since she was a little girl, Evelyn had an eye for fashion. Her parents always thought it was the bright colors, or all of the ruffles, but that wasn't how it went in her head. No, she loved the beauty of it. Of course, learning the realities of it, she wanted to put more inner beauty into fashion than just outer beauty. And thus, began her journey and the development of who she is today.
Her mind soars to high places, and she thinks in splashes of paint and different music tones as opposed to logic and graphs. This doesn't take away from her common sense though, nor her intellect. However, this sometimes does cause her to daydream in class, or fall asleep at her desk after a long night of coming up with new ideas. In a nutshell, Evelyn's "all idea, and ready for action."
All she needs is just a little bit of time.[/ul]

, history
Sixteen years ago, a young couple rushed to the aid for several doctors and nurses, for the woman was to be having her first child. After twelve hours of strenuous labor, the woman had a little girl, whom she named Evelyn. Being her body wasn't even meant to hold children, the women was put into critical care for two weeks, as was the little girl that was a whole month early. However, everything worked out fine, and they were able to go home at the end of the month.
The little girl's childhood was a happy time for the family. The joyous parents were beside themselves when it came to watching their little girl grow. The father, an English teacher at the University of Sydney, would often read her books from the library, and sometimes short story writing assignments his students made, every night. Her mother, an avid lover of the city, would often walk her down the blocks and into the shops during the sunny afternoons, window shopping and showing her little girl all of the colors and texture that existed in the world. She could recall a time where her parents took her to the Sydney zoo to watch the giraffes and elephants, and sleeping on her father's lap on the train. It was a beautiful time.
But time grew short and tired after a while. Her mother got pregnant again, and was constantly in and out of the hospital. In secondary schooling by then, her peers made fun of her family, being her parents weren't married. She grew sick from the teasing and pushing in the school yard, and would often hide under the bed in her parent's bedroom until her father pulled her out. It was around then that her father lost his job, due to company cutbacks, and started to grow depressed. Nothing, not even the healthy birth of her sister that winter, or the first days of spring, seemed to be able to cheer them up. None of the family had color on the mind.
Around this time, her grandmother was getting ready to retire, and needed to get rid of her summer house in Oregon. Being the house was older and close to the marina, enabling flood damage, it wasn't going for much, and the older woman called her son to present him with the offer. Things were better with the family, but the light was still dim. Evelyn was still being teased, Lily was having trouble in school, and Alicia still wasn't in perfect health. Carver accepted, and the family packed up and left towards the states.
The move brought about many changes, both good and bad. Evelyn, close to eleven by then, feared kids making fun of her family again, or hating her accent. Of course, she was proven wrong when she got there. It was around that time that she came out and was able to be herself, throwing away her old uniform and replacing it with new, more colorful skirts. She began sewing and embroidery to make her clothes more "her", and dyed her hair several different shades. She was finally who she truly was, and by then it was high school.
And every day was, suddenly, like a new beginning.

` are there giants too, in the dance?
This application was made exclusively for Nevermore by Maura Lee Bee. Steal it, and I will release the hounds when you least expect it. And they're not cute little puppies either. They are ravenous beasts because I constantly forget to feed them. They bite, by the way. And love flesh. Don't make me release the hounds. O _ O
