The Secret Hour
A year has passed since the end of Blue Noon. Blue time has spread out all over the world, awakening new Midnighters unaware of the threats posed by the Darklings. Jessica, Melissa, and Jonathon have tracked down some of them and taught them about the secret hour, while others wander about on their own, unsure whether the things that have happened to them are real or imaginary.
Meanwhile, in Bixby, Rex and Dess have had to cope with several devastating attacks by the Darklings. It turns out there were others outside Bixby, frozen underground for centuries. They want revenge on the Midnighters for killing their peers and are finding ways of luring unsuspecting daylighters into the Secret Hour. The truth has come out, and the citizens of Bixby realize that they are not safe.
Jessica, Melissa, and Jonathon have returned to Bixby to help defend the town, while the new Midnighters also find themselves drawn toward the small town where the Secret Hour began. Unfortunately, the Darklings swarm around the town, making it pretty much the most dangerous place to be when the clock strikes midnight.
