Adela plopped down on her couch, a bit exhausted from work, but still somehow a bit energetic. Being on her feet all day made her want to be on her feet a bit more, and it was a weird feeling. Deciding to jump in the shower, she also considered taking a walk afterwards. It felt different even making this decision. Normally, before her whole "outlook on life change," Adela wouldn't have even considered going out in the evening after work after the incident she'd had a few months earlier. But that only happened once. Who said it would ever happen again? Laying out clothes on her bed, she quickly showered, dressed, and left.
Adela didn't exactly know what she would do first: there was quite a few places in Nevermore, considering it was a small town. She steered towards the safer end of town, the wolf side as she called it. Though she knew there was a faery court on that side as well, it was more safe than the other side of town. The faery side, where they thrived at night. She would definitely not be going in that direction. Heading on the dirt road, she soon reached the dirt road and, soon after, the fields. The sun was just sitting on the horizon, ready to set. But Adela wanted to go a bit further, so she continued until she reached the Hills.
Sitting down amongst the tall, dead grass, she reflected on her week. It had been quite eventful, especially her first ride on a personal jet. Gabe had been great that night, showing her a different way of life. A fun way. Now she felt like she could enjoy life and not be constantly paranoid and careful about her parents finding her. Pushing the thought of her parents away, she dwelled on the thoughts of Gabe. She didn't exactly know what was going on between them, but there was a small spark. But she honestly didn't know how long it would last. They both seemed equally interested, but who knew. If there were options, she could be open to them.
