Jeremy and Monique's stride almost matched each other's and his eyebrows furrowed for a moment as he wondered how that could be if he was so tall compared to her. Blinking his mind away from wandering to less important subjects, he tried his best not to worry about Mona's parents, but the thought of them scared him a bit and his heart thumped slightly faster. What would they think of her marrying Jeremy now? Jeremy wished Monique knew the answer. He couldn't bare the wait, but at the same time, never wanted to have to face her parents.
Sighing when Monique spoke, Jeremy, at first, hoped the same thing. What had he just gotten them into? Of course he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Mona, and he was more than positive she felt the same way, but had it been to soon? Too late? Suddenely though, a thought broke through his worried state and his heart rate immediately went back to normal. Nothing could break them apart. That, he felt so strongly. Going in front of Monique to grab hold of her shoulders and bent slightly to meet her eye level, he spoke a question he knew the answer to. "Do you trust me?"

Mona stopped walking when Jeremy got in front of her and faced her, with his hands on her shoulders. Hearing his question, she tilted her head a bit to the side and laughs softly, shaking her head some "Of course I do, Jeremy." she stepped in closer to him, resting her hands lightly on his chest "I love you, Jeremy Hills. I always have. Always will." she told him honestly.
The woman could still remember the first time she ever met Jeremy. She had been young and though he was only two years older, he seemed a bit older than that. But Mona didn't care, she fell in love with a man that barely took notice to her. Though the pain of the past still hurt, it wasn't that bad anymore. She could look past everything that had been Jeremy then and see the man for who he is now. One that she knows to be different, one that she wants to spend the rest of forever with.

Jeremy scrutinized Monique and smirked as he raised an eyebrow, breathing a short laugh. Releasing his grip on her shoulders he held out his arms as if having solved a problem. "Then it's settled. We know what we're doing and we're going to get through this. Because we love and trust each other." As he said this, he dropped his arms and closed the small gap between them, wrapping his arms around her waist to hold her close as he budded noses with her before kissing her.
Then, putting his arm back around her shoulders, he led her back on the dirt road into Nevermore, to face the people and their parents.

Monique smiled brightly up at Jeremy and was happy to hear those words come from him. With his help and strength, she was sure she could face her parents and the world around them. She was sure she could even face the people of Nevermore that would be staring and god knows will be finding a way to spread the news around. It made her laugh quietly to herself. Gotta love living in a town small enough where everyone knows everyone. So the fact that people knew she was to be getting married, and being seen with the returning Jeremy Hills, let's just say, people were going to assume things, and some of them were going to be right.
Monique kissed him back, before they began their walk once more. She slipped her arm around his waist again, a smile to her lips as they walked right into Nevermore.
